Textures are an integral part of the artistic experience, adding depth, dimension, and sensory engagement to artwork. From the smoothness of polished surfaces to the roughness of raw materials, texture invites viewers to connect with art on a visceral level.

About the juror: Alyssa Imes is a sculptor, textile and performance artist who has exhibited work in galleries and public spaces throughout the DMV. Currently, she is teaching sculpture at Towson University. She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts Concentration in Sculpture from Shepherd University and Master of Fine Arts from University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
